At the request of the Glens Falls Police Department, A/GFTC will be conducting an evaluation of crossing guard locations throughout the city. During the month of October, staff will be collecting pedestrian counts at existing manned crossings as well as at adjacent locations where crossing activity is observed. Student concentrations and vehicular traffic volumes will also be assessed and outreach to PTAs is planned for November. Staff will report its findings to the GFPD with the goal of optimizing the deployment of the crossing guards to the locations and during the times that they are most needed. Comments or suggestions may be sent to info@agftc.org or by contacting A/GFTC staff at (518) 223-0086.
