Queensbury Connector Road
A/GFTC, working engineering firm Creighton Manning, is developing a regional transportation analysis and conceptual layout for a proposed new roadway that would connect Quaker Road and Queensbury Avenue in the Town of Queensbury, NY.
This study is intended to yield three basic products: (1) a quantification of the immediate and longer term benefits and impacts of establishing a new roadway linkage between Quaker Road and Queensbury Avenue, (2) a conceptual layout and cross-section of the proposed roadway based upon existing physical limitations, available ROW, and review of alternatives, and (3) cost estimates for the construction of the preferred concept.
The Connector Road Analysis will be used as a technical justification for the Town of Queensbury and Warren County should either entity choose to pursue a capital project to construct the proposed roadway. As it is likely that such a project would evolve through A/GFTC’s Transportation Improvement Program process, the concept will be accordance with A/GFTC’s adopted Transportation Planning Principles. Multimodal accommodations, access management, cost-effectiveness, and public support are critical considerations in our locally administered transportation planning and programming processes.
STUDY AREA
The defined study area is within the southeastern portion of the Town of Queensbury in Warren County. The proposed new roadway would have a western terminus that intersects Quaker Road (also known as NYS Route 254 or Warren County Route 70) by utilizing the existing Quaker Ridge Road. Its eastern terminus would intersect Queensbury Avenue (Warren County Route 52) at a location approximately opposite to the Stone Quarry Road intersection.

A/GFTC, with Fountains Spatial, has added a project view finder. This allows the public better access to view transportation projects in the A/GFTC planning and programming area. The Project View Finder was last updated on 1/14/11.
