The public work session on August 22nd was a great success. We had over 60 people come to hear the proposed alternatives for the corridor, as well as give their input and opinions about the roadway. If you would like additional copies of the handouts that were available at the meeting, they can be found at the bottom of this page. Please note that they are in 11x17 format. Thanks for the great turnout!

Materials from the July 11th Public Work Session are now available at the bottom of this page. Additional material is forthcoming for the Executive Summary.
A/GFTC and the Town of Queensbury are administering a corridor study of the 0.90 mile long section of Aviation Road between Interstate 87 and Potter Road. This study was added to A/GFTC's annual work program at the request of the Town in response to mounting citizen concerns regarding safety and traffic conditions along the corridor. The Queensbury Union Free School District is also in the process of updating its Master Site Plan. Coordination of these two separate efforts will ideally result in a package of balanced recommendations that improve access to the school campus while mitigating accident potential, traffic congestion, and barriers to bicycle and pedestrian travel.
The consultant team of Wilbur Smith Associates, The Chazen Companies, and M.J. Engineering and Land Surveying has been selected to conduct the study. Preliminary data collection has begun and an initial summary of existing conditions has been completed. A public worksession was held at Queensbury High School on July 11th; a summary of comments will be available here soon. Please contact this office if you wish to be notified of ongoing developments or check back here for periodic updates.
